Cry Me a River
The series is about the strange sense of beauty that I associate with old road movies featuring people in run-down motels in gloomy suburbs. It is my tribute to this particular sense of beauty in a context of loneliness and alienation with hints of melancholy, weltschmerz, and escapism. Shot in an old suburban hotel in Brussels (Belgium), portraying the Flemish graphic artist Annemieke Van Barlingen.
