Dive In

The 'Dive In' photo series is inspired by the 'pin-up' culture of the mid-20th century, in which drawings, paintings and photos of pin-up models enjoyed great popularity for a long time. The term 'pin-up' refers to the idea of 'pinning' the images on a wall. The phenomenon grew into a subculture that promoted a stereotypical female beauty ideal with a strong erotic appearance. Although this subculture forms the basis of the 'Dive In' series, the key elements of the classic pin-up approach such as the image of womanhooid, beauty ideal, eroticism, use of color, self-awareness, body culture, expression and poses have been defined using a very different interpretation.
